Major DAAD Alumni Seminars
Each year the DAAD organises subject-specific or interdisciplinary alumni seminars
in various countries. These seminars are mainly
intended for foreign alumni and are generally carried
out in cooperation with the German diplomatic representations,
local DAAD Lektors, the
Goethe Institutes, universities or Alumni
Clubs. You will be able to find a list of events
(including additional information such as pre-announcements,
seminar/conference reports, photos, etc.) by going
to our Alumni Calendar.

Smaller Alumni Seminars with DAAD participation
Upon application, the DAAD may also be able to provide grants towards smaller
alumni events organised by alumni themselves or
where some former DAAD scholarships holders are taking part.
These must be subject-specific events. Grants cannot
be awarded towards purely social gatherings. A substantial
number of DAAD alumni must be taking part in the
event in question. Click here
for further information and details and for the
application form. You will be able to
find a list of events (including additional information
such as pre-announcements, seminar/conference reports,
photos, etc.) by going to our Alumni
Calendar.

Alumni Clubs - Grants for events and setting up clubs
The DAAD is able to provide the 120 and more DAAD
alumni clubs around the world with grants towards
the costs of arranging specialist events. These
grants are conditional upon some former DAAD scholarship
holders being members of the club and upon the club
being recognised under the respective national law.
We will also be able to support you if you intend
to set up a DAAD Alumni Club yourself. Take a look
at our information sheet to find details on all
these opportunities
or download the application form for event grants
here
or for grants to set up a club.
Further information, contact addresses, etc. on
alumni clubs can be found here.

Free-of-charge subscription to the alumni magazine "DAAD-Letter"
Letter, the DAAD alumni magazine, appears in German three times a year and is
free of charge to DAAD alumni. Articles aim to provide
information on developments and trends in higher
education, science and research policy fields in
Germany as well as on the DAAD's support activities
and programmes. In addition, DAAD alumni get an
opportunity to report on the impressions and experience
they gained during their supported stay. You will
find letters to the editor here.
The magazine DAAD Letter is free of charge for current one-year-scholarship holders and foreign alumni. You can register or update your personal details in our Forum.

Database of Scholarship Holder Reports
The DAAD supports many thousands of scholarship holders every year. A great many of these scholarship holders regularly
send us their reports on their experiences in the host country during the DAAD-supported stay. These reports provide
information on all aspects relating to academic life in the university town, as well as valuable tips on the culture,
country and people of the respective host country. Our forum provides the current group of scholarship holders with an
opportunity to pass this information on to future generations of DAAD scholarship holders by placing their report in the
database. And the more reports we receive, the sooner we will be able to provide newly-selected scholarship holders with
specific and relevant information on their host country, their host university and their academic discipline.
Please contribute to our reports database. Access is again provided via the Forum.

Discussion Forum
Of course, the Forum will also provide you with
an opportunity to contact other alumni and scholarship
holders and to exchange your experience and views.
The information value of this platform depends on
your input. Do you have a job to offer? Are you
looking for a place to live? Do you want to continue
improving your language skills after returning home?
The forum is the right place to "publish" your wishes,
questions and interests about all aspects of academic
mobility.
