Guidance and counselling for foreign DAAD scholarship holders
Active members working in the regional groups located in various German university
towns provide a wide range of guidance and counselling services and much more for foreign scholarship holders here in
Germany on a DAAD-supported stay, including:
- assistance in finding a place to live or in completing the various formalities at the authorities
- the organisation of information seminars
- arrangement of company visits
- invitations to visit an exhibition or theatre together, and so on.
There are no limits to the creativity of the active members of the Friends of the DAAD. You can also find some selected
activities in the Alumni Calendar.
Study Visit Program (new)
German alumni who are also members of the Friends of the DAAD can apply for this
programme. Financial support can be provided for
their former foreign supervisor. This support is
conditional upon the member and supervisor jointly
carrying out a scientific research project which
requires that the former foreign supervisor completes
a stay in Germany. The support amounts up to 1,500
euros. Those German alumni who meet the application
requirements - member of the Friends of the DAAD
- can download here
the information sheet (in German).
Emergency Assistance Fund
Many thousands of foreign DAAD scholarship holders come to Germany every year.
Among these we time and time again unfortunately
find scholarship holders who through no fault of
their own find themselves facing an emergency. In
such cases, the Friends of the DAAD can provide
quick and efficient help - without bureaucratic
obstacles: They can range from a bouquet of flowers
brought to the hospital bed through to short- term
financial assistance. Please direct your requests
to the office
of the Friends of the DAAD. |
