Many private and state institutes and schools offer German courses in Germany and abroad. Overviews, evaluated selections, addresses and tips may be found under:

From my personal experience

"My name is Shufang, I come from China and am learning German in a language school. There are 14 students in the class, we all know each other and have a lot of fun together. Last year I attended a summer course in Heidelberg. It was an international course, and we only spoke German. That really motivated me because I only spoke and listened to German all day.

I need this German course because contacts with the others and with the teacher are important to me. The course takes place regularly and we are making rapid progress. I look forward to it all the week, because we also play games and do speaking exercises. Soon I would like to take a special course in commercial German as it would improve my chances of getting a good job. The course programme contains exactly what I want, and at the end I can take examinations, too."
