"My name is Vladimir. I come from Ukraine. I have been learning German for four years on a radio language course "DEUTSCH-WARUM NICHT?" run by the Deutsche Welle (DW). At the start I couldn´t speak any German at all, now I can understand it very well. Learning German on this radio language course is fun, but demands strict discipline. The course comprises four serials, each of 26 lessons. Each transmission lasts 15 minutes. The explanations for the lessons are in Ukrainian, and are printed in 22 other languages as well. The books for the course were supplied free of charge by the DW. The DW also has other radio courses on offer.
The RADIO language course suits me well because I live far away from any large town, I have no Goethe-Institut here, and I have no money for a German course or private teacher. I am learning German in a "global classroom". My wish for the future is to be able to try out my German in real life."
