Test your German

Test Institutes in Germany

In Germany, you may sit for recognised examinations and certificates at, for example, Goethe-Instituts, TestDaF-Institut test centres, individual universities, adult education centres and examination centres of the Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (WBT).

Placement Tests

You can test your own knowledge of German, take a placement test or sit for a certificate or language examination. Self-tests and placement tests for your own orientation can be found in the Internet in various educational works or institutes offering language courses. Language institutes also often offer placement tests for allocating their students to courses at an appropriate level.

"Test your German"

German tests covering general topics or with different points of emphasis (grammar, vocabulary, reading, and much else) are on offer online. The test results are normally immediately available. These tests help to assess your own knowledge of German:

Praktikum

A "Praktikum" is an internship or work placement that aims to give students the opportunity to gain experience outside academia by working in business and industry or in public authorities, administrations etc. Internships are a compulsory part of many degree programmes.
