How to use the University Ranking
We offer three paths to the study programme of your choice. You can find your programme by selecting:
We recommend that you start out by selecting one of the 35 subjects, because this option offers you a wealth of search methods:
- Quick Search:
"Ranking Overview" lists all the surveyed universities with a broad assessment in five key criteria. This is where you can compare the general strengths and weaknesses of the universities.
- Personal Choice:
If you are quite certain of what you want and know the criteria that are particularly important to you, such as library facilities or computer equipment, then try out "My Ranking". This allows you to select up to five personal criteria from more than 25 choices, to set the order in which these criteria apply, and to weight the criteria to help you find the most suitable university.
You should take some time for this intensive personal search.
- Further Options:
If you have more than one university on your shortlist, you can try out the "University Comparison"
and directly compare their strengths and weaknesses.
Once you've found one or several suitable universities, you can click on the university names to get further detailed information on the department: All facts and verdicts surveyed in the ranking plus a description of the department with details on core study areas, guidance-counselling services, material equipment and so much more. As an international student, in particular, you will be able to find details on the proportion of foreign students at the university in question, on courses instructed in foreign languages, and on the
ECTS.
