DIES Conference 2005: Cross-border
Education and Development Co-operation
The DIES-conference 2005 connects with the DIES-conference
2004 in Berlin in as far as the organizers take up where
the participants demanded greater immersion in Cross-border
Education.
"Cross-border Education and Development Co-operation"
aims to provide a discussion platform for all actors
in higher education involved in cross-border education
with and in developing countries.
On the first day of the conference, all
practical aspects pertaining to partnerships in cross-border
education will be addressed. On the following day, the
implications of cross-border education in developing
countries of the South will be debated. Questions will
be raised with regards to the general framework for
solid and efficient cross-border education, and the
implications this may have on the Millenium Development
Goals of the United Nations will be examined.
The target group of this conference are
both those universities and institutions which have
many years of experience in development cooperation
as well as those which have been engaged in this field
for a short time.
