strengthen international activities More
than 300 higher education leaders and experts as well
as representatives from politics, science and industry
joined the international conference “Achieving
the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): A Challenge
for Global Higher Education”, held from 3rd to
4th November in Berlin. The conference stressed the
important role of the higher education sector within
the MDG process: One of the outcomes of the conference
was that the organizers DAAD, HRK and GTZ agreed to
increase their support of higher education institutions
in the field of development cooperation.
